Mixed Use
Aurum Jewellers
A flagship jewellery showroom in Jaipur with a warm sandstone façade, layered arches and a refined retail-led architectural identity rooted in the city's material character.
The Brief
Aurum needed a flagship store that would feel premium and memorable from the street while still remaining elegant and timeless. The brief was to create a façade language that aligned with Jaipur's historic architectural vocabulary without slipping into pastiche, while giving the brand a strong, identifiable presence.
Design Response
FMDL developed the building as a symmetrical sandstone composition with deeply framed arches, rounded corners and a tall central entry portal that elevates the arrival into a brand gesture. The upper and lower floors are tied together through repeated arched window groupings, careful stone coursing and warm concealed lighting that highlights the depth of the façade. The result balances retail visibility with a civic, crafted architectural expression.
Materials & Approach
Pink sandstone cladding, recessed arched glazing, bronze-toned signage and frames, warm façade lighting, textured paving, low native planting and restrained outdoor seating together create a premium yet contextually rooted showroom frontage.
Outcome
The proposal gives Aurum Jewellers a distinct Jaipur address — a showroom that reads as both a luxury retail destination and a composed urban building, using material warmth and proportion rather than excessive display.
