Kairali Ayurvedic Centre
An Ayurvedic wellness centre for Kairali in Gurgaon — reception, retail, consultation and therapy rooms designed around Kerala traditions, panchabhuta symbolism and the calm ritual of treatment.
The Brief
Kairali's Gurgaon centre needed to translate a centuries-old Kerala Ayurvedic identity into a 2,000 sq ft urban setting. The brief covered a branded reception and product retail, a consultation room, treatment and therapy suites, and a circulation spine that could carry the brand's spiritual and sensory cues without becoming theatrical.
Design Response
FMDL organised the plan as a quiet sequence: a brick-textured reception with a stacked-wood counter and backlit Kairali signage; an illuminated retail wall of brass-toned ladder shelving displaying oils, herbs and awards; a corridor lined with chakra canvases and a Sanskrit panchabhuta + dosha wall (Akash, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Prithvi · Vata, Pitta, Kapha); and treatment rooms anchored by hand-carved sheesham droni tables, bamboo blinds and a small mandir niche. A printed mandala skylight and lattice cove ceilings carry South Indian craft motifs across the centre.
Materials & Approach
Exposed-brick veneer, stacked teak panelling, brass-finish ladder shelving with timber shelves, woven bamboo and CNC-cut wood lattice cove ceilings, printed mandala stretch-ceiling skylight, marble and warm-toned vitrified flooring, carved sheesham droni therapy tables, copper urli, hand-painted chakra canvases and Devanagari + English typographic wall art.
Outcome
The completed centre reads as a calm, authentic Kairali outpost in the middle of Gurgaon — strong on brand storytelling, easy to operate, and unmistakably Ayurvedic from the moment guests step in.
